At home, have a discussion today about the meaning of the poppy. In class, the students created their own poppy today to create a class wreath. This will be presented at the Remembrance Day Assembly on Friday.
Photo retakes Thursday. Please indicate to me if you would like your child to have retakes. Picture orders due November 14th. Practice spelling words a little each night. Can your child read the words? Spell the words orally? Write the words? (If you have things like lego, playdoh, etc. at home...Can your child build the words?) One fun idea would be to write the words in the carpet at home! At home, discuss the different sounds that "o" can make! For example, what sound does "o" make in the word "so"? What about "do"? What about "hop"? What about "hope"? Students were also asked to hunt for words with the cute chunk "aw" at home in books or words around the house. (i.e. jaw, claw, saw, crawl, paw, shawl, law, straw, etc.) How many "aw" words can your child think of?
